A Night Off (Well, Mostly) at Leo’s

With schedules that often have us working nights and weekends, a geographic spread that takes us across New Jersey, and sometimes across time zones, and actual lives outside of work, it’s hard to get the team together just to relax and enjoy a nice meal and conversation.

Our recent dinner at Hoboken’s legendary Leo’s Grandevous was a good reminder of how valuable that time can be.

A lot of the conversation, not surprisingly, revolved around work, sharing stories, talking about the people and communities we cover, and laughing about some of the experiences that come with what we do. But that’s part of what made the evening so enjoyable. Getting to know the people we work with beyond a meeting, a deadline, or a story helps build the relationships that make a team stronger.

I also appreciated having the chance to say “thank you” to them all. We ask a lot of our team, and I’m grateful for the time, energy, and commitment they bring to our work every day.

It was nice to get a chance to do that, even with two of our teammates missing. Hopefully, we’ll have more opportunities like this to step away from the work, share a meal, and simply enjoy each other’s company.
